The Mountain

By Tim Ard

I stood facing that mountain

The road from the valley -- seemed forever long

Life is good but easy not ever

Oh, to climb To sing a victory song

The Son will rise over that mountain

Thorns and stones will roll away

The path will shine with light before you

The mountain top will lead the way

As the fear of the climb filled my senses

A story was brought to mind

I felt I knew of another who climbed before

A mountain so tall of another time

The story unfolded as a man walked by

Cheered on by the crowd, some scolded, some cried

The man a sight, he'd been beaten and scourged

Placed on His head a crown of thorns

He never wavered as he climbed that day

Reaching the top he heard all they would say

But all he could say is "They no not what they do"

There he hung on a cross for me and you

Chorus

So when your mountain's too tall to climb

Life's unfair or not worth it at all

Remember a mountain - a man's journey there

His life given so our mountains we can bear

Chorus
