We started love as one together, now to end as two

What makes this right when here tonight I’m sitting thinking of you?

I’ve made mistakes, I’ve been wrong - I don’t know where to start

How can our love be mended - with our hearts so far apart

A person - place - or thing has taken what we had

Turned our love and happiness into something sad

Can we draw our love together as it was from the start

Can we mend our love, fill this space between our hearts?

Words are sharp they drive apart the times that we once had

The things we say, the things we do, they really make us sad

Can we love each other now as it was from the start?
